Massachusetts legalised it in 2004, almost an entire decade before the UK.
Correct. But it was not until the 2013 decision in United States v Windsor that the Defense of Marriage Act was struck down which had given other states cover to refuse to honor the "full faith and credit" clause of the constitution in relation to marriage.
That is what sent the jesustards scrambling for other bullshit reasons to remain bigots.
And then in 2015 the Obergefell v. Hodges case ended the matter..... to all but the worst jesus freaks.
