I smelled it about three days ago.
I've just moved house and was busy taking out the rubbish to the wheelie bin. The previous tenants moved out maybe four months ago.
There was food left by them at the bottom of the bin. It had rotted to the point that it had emulsified and there were maggots all over the bottom of the bin. Compounded by a week of sweltering heat, when I opened the lid I honestly nearly threw up.
It was like a corpse had been left in there.
I couldn't stop smelling it for three days after and ended up bleaching the bin to within an inch of its life and then washing it down with a power hose.
I've had five baths since then as well. Three on the same day I opened that gateway to hell.
