I think it's because I hate that shaggy medium-length hair on men. Grow it out really long (like past the shoulders long) or cut it short, but don't have it in between.

I live for Adam's eyeliner though. I love when a guy can pull off eyeliner, especially in combination with some facial hair.
The only time I've ever found the shaggy indie boy look attractive was on Freddie from Skins, dirty boy (yes the actor was an adult at the time, and I was a teen in my defense);
