Whites? or Asians? Because white people are shot and killed at a higher rate than black people are. Black people are indeed shot more, but whites almost double the number of black in fatal shootings. Meaning white people are dying 2:1 in officer involved shootings. The only people who aren't killed more by police than black people are asians.
Let's assume "the last guy" had a gun. Let us also assume, for the sake of argument, that he was wielding it in a threatening manner.
The protestors, that you're implying leaped to conclusions in this case, do actually have some evidence, here: what they have, is a pattern of minority men and women being met with lethal force at a rate they find to be disproportionate.

Quote:They feel this because they also see white people, often doing far more overtly violent acts, being taken in alive, while black people tend to be shot for... well, not doing much of anything, really. That's not true either. Again:
"Over the span of more than a decade, 2,151 whites died by being shot by police compared to 1,130 blacks."

Quote:So you have a world where, just off the top of my head, the Aurora theater shooter gets taken in alive, yet the black kid with the fake gun gets gunned down. The black guy with his hands up gets shot. And so on.That's because that theater shooter played the game and gave the cops control of the situation right away.
And Rice (the black kid with the toy) pointed that toy at a cop who was screaming for him to put the gun down. He did not allow the officer the safety control needed for that situation. That mistake SHOULD have cost him His life if he or anyone else foolishly was acts in an aggressive manner toward a cop holding anything resembling a gun.
Cops see alot of really bad stuff perpetrated by kids. So if you were a cop and had a split second to decide if this kid is a good kid who is just an f-ing idiot who has really shitty parents that never beat his ass when ever he pointed a toy gun at other people, or if he is a monster where a kids body, and the consequence of you being wrong is either you not going home to your family or he doesn't get to go home what do you choose?
Our police officers need that space that freedom to error on the side of their lives rather anyone else who is forcing a particular situation. Otherwise the men we need to be cops will walk away from the job leaving those who really should be there in the first place. If that happens we will all suffer greatly. Why because the bad guys want cops second guessing every decision they make which gives them the choice of life and death by taking that escalation factor out of the hands of the police.
Quote:What is being protested, in these cases, is not just the specific case that sparked this particular round of protests, but also the overarching narrative that becomes clearer each time this happens, which is that police responses tend to favor white people while turning out disturbingly fatal for minorities in analogous or less severe scenarios. You're looking at one more police shooting in a long line of them, and choosing only to see the latest body because it suits your preferred narrative to do so.Look I know that is the popular narrative politicians and the media have framed but look what people in the protest say. Verses at what they do.
Again the actions of the rioters (which always follow the protesters as soon as they can be bussed in) say they want one thing but their action scream for lawlessness. How can you claim you want justice while behaving in an unjust way? These are monsters playing word games. They seek out key phrases to give people like you pause and push you to take a netural position while they practice the exact oppsite of what they claim they want. But because they use certain words in their 'protest stage' they are given social permission to destroy lives, by people like you.. Again where is the justice there?
Or is the intent not justice but vengeance? because that is all that is being served. If they seek vengeance then why placate it?
Again stop listening to the narrative from the news to assign reason for the riots, and look at what the rioters themselves are calling for. Look at the net result of their actions... In essence they have been given entire blocks of the city to do with what they will, and just look at the result of that will...
Doesn't quite sync up with what the popular narrative says does it?
Verse look at what Martain Luther King jr. Said in His Protest Marches, and then Look at the net result of what was done by the protesters when entire city blocks were given to them...
Where the stakes any difference? Did the cause change? The honest answer is not really if anything they were a hell of alot higher in King's day, and he face a real threat against the police, not to mention many wanted him dead and would have done so if given the opportunity. Yet he stood firm in his beliefs and convictions, but never once did anything that resembled what has taken place by his contemporaries.
If you want to compare narrative to actions then know we have a real life example of how protests can work and affect real change, and we also have examples of morons being fooled by the use of key words into thinking vengeance and looting is on par with what martain luther King did.
Quote:The people on the street protesting do not have the luxury of doing that. It's one more and one more and one more, no matter how you sit there and try to twist so that it's just one.The only man shot for 'no reason' was the nurse laying on the ground and was accidentally shot in the leg, by the Hispanic cop (aiming for the autistic guy) holding a Truck (Transformer Motor Master/Decipticon).. In the cop's defense it was a bad guy/decipticon the autistic kid was threatening the cop with.
Bold is mine.
That is the crux of the problem and has been for some time. Man goes with woman and busts a nut, then he leaves when he finds out she is pregnant. She meets another man who she thinks is the right one. He busts another nut and bam, she is pregnant again, only for him to run off because he cannot face up to his responsibilities. This happens a great deal in the USA, and this is why one parent families always goes tits up. Again, I refer you to the European model where African families seldom break up because they understand the responsibilities of bringing up a child. Hard men who walk around with a gun, yet too much of a coward to face up to his responsibilities.
