Here's a novel idea rather than argue emotion try and check a fact or two every once and a while...
The fact that you or anyone else does not know the first slave owner in North America was black [...]
LOL, Dripsh*t - here's a novel idea: read the page you're linking to, in order to make sure it supports your claims.
It doesn't say anywhere on that wikipedia page, that Johnson was the first slave owner in North America, you racist twit. It says:
Quote:He became one of the first property owners and slaveholders of African birth there.
But of course - you'll believe anything that suits your idiotic views, won't you, Drippy?
Oh, my glob...
Anthony Johnson (b. c. 1600 – d. 1670) was an Angolan who achieved freedom in the early 17th-century Colony of Virginia after serving his term of indenture. He became one of the first property owners and slaveholders of African birth there. Held as an indentured servant in 1621, he earned his freedom after several years, and was granted land by the colony.[1]
He later became a successful tobacco farmer in Maryland. Notably, he is recognized for attaining great wealth after having been an indentured servant and has been referred to as “'the black patriarch' of the first community of Negro property owners in America".[1]
Since you seem to have a problem with the term SLAVEHOLDER let me define it for you:
slave·hold·er
ˈslāvˌhōldər/
noun
noun: slaveholder; plural noun: slaveholders; noun: slave-holder; plural noun: slave-holders
- an owner of slaves.
