I wonder how much good it would do. You either have someone you trust and are close to (most likely) and in that case I guess a person is not likely to have their gun on them or shoot their boyfriend in any case. Or you have a violent stranger type situation (less likely) in which case the victim is likely untrained and unprepared to deal with the situation, pulling out a gun could easily lead to herself getting shot by her rapist.
It's still not bad to learn how to fight or to learn how to use a gun.
