After having drunk the majority of this Angry Orchard sampler pack, I can come to some general observations. On the whole, I liked the balance of sweet and alcohol that these ciders provided. Many times ciders can be too sweet, but this was not generally the case with Angry Orchards ciders, though they typically weren't what I would call 'dry' either, including the one flavor "Stone Dry." The two driest ones were the Stone Dry and Hop'N Mad Apple, which were akin to a light, and slightly sweet beer. Many of the flavors were semi-sweet without any balancing qualities to offset the sweetness; these were your typical ciders, and included the flavors Green Apple, Crisp Apple, and Summer Honey (the last being a seasonal). I think I was most impressed with the Elderflower flavor, which is also a seasonal. It was sweet, like the traditional ciders, but with a strong set of floral overtones. I could really taste the flowers with this one.
Alas, the pack didn't include Cinnful Apple, which is another seasonal, with cinnamon overtones. They also make a handful of artisan ciders, one of which is supposed to be fairly dry: the Walden Hollow. I hope that it is available locally because I'm most intrigued by the prospect of sampling it.
On the whole, though quite a few of the ciders in the Angry Orchard line were unremarkable, I really enjoyed them all on the whole. However, those ciders which were in some sense atypical were my favorites.
