and if you had no education then you might not have had the comprehensive skills to discern the way you did. right? you cant think of any scenario that would have kept your false belief?
and no, im saying kids believe in santa, that doesnt make them different. not a great example. but believing in god doesnt make a person different. different ideas and beliefs yeah.
i suppose im not quite sure what you mean when you say "they arent stupid, just different." people have contradictory beliefs all the time unrelated to god and religion. id call it stupid personally, but cheers to you for taking the high road.
Scenarios: Home schooling with all religious books, church schooling, no TV, no radio, frontal lobotomy, stroke, application of Deuteronomy 21:18-21, .........
Believing in god makes that person different from me. Not usually intolerable, not usually stupid, but different.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
