You act as if Chick is condoning child abuse. The whole point of the story is to speak to an abuser and maybe get him to stop what he's doing.
I'm astounded that you don't find it offensive Huggy, the whole narrative is entirely concerned with the 'soul' of the father, and not one moment of compassion is shown towards the victim. Hardly shows christianity in a positive light, regardless of the message you say it is trying to get across. Unless you believe that saving the soul of the father is more important than the needs of the victim, and more important than the legal responsibilities of the doctor?
You've always struck me as basically a decent person despite your beliefs, surely you don't think that this is a reasonable attitude for xtians to take?
