They didn't act like a bully or stand up to one, their statement was akin to asking Pence to be nice.

To not pull the same shtick as he pulled in his state on a national level, that's what the cast said. The audience is another matter. They protested him. If that's PC - funny that PC only comes in when liberals or people not agreeing with anti LGBT and rightwing agendas act - is written on a different page. It was non violent in any case. Just making use of their freedom of expression in not agreeing with a certain public figure appearing and what they stand for.
