The attention is born out a sense of guilt over an attraction. I really do believe that the ones bawling the loudest over gay people are also the ones that should partake in a Gay Pride Parade to losen up. It's nothing empirical, of course, but more than once one of these anti gay preachers have been caught with their rent- or loverboys. One even was taken off the streets after offering a 50 to a random guy for a blowjob.
Some comes from those ppl, but I'd also say a lot comes from perfectly straight ppl who are consumed by pride. And since homosexual sin is a sin they personally have never and will never struggle with, they are free to go all out in condemning that sin specidically. It gives them a sense of superiority.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
