Funny how for some reason this doesn't apply to the American / Canadian border, which in numerous places looks like this:
To be fair though, I can understand why the Canadian border isn't seen as much of a priority. Isn't there much more drug and human trafficking coming from the south? And more illegal immigration coming from there in general? And not to sound racist or politically incorrect, but isn't it a fact that we get more of the "trouble maker/riff raff" types coming from the south than from Canada? We're comparing a 3rd world country (Mexico) to a 1st world country (Canada). There are going to be differences.
(And as a reminder, my family and I came here from a 3rd world South American country. So please leave the racist/superiority remarks aside. I'm making an honest attempt at being objective.)
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
