I've learned that most conservatives will claim to care about people--but they really don't. They only care about themselves. It's the only thing they care about--except money, and they care about that too. So long as they've got theirs, it doesn't matter who else suffers. This is obvious from the way they are against gay marriage, against universal health care, against public education... the list goes on and on and on.

If it were you and your family in their positions... I wonder what you'd do. Would you be a good law abiding citizen and wait 10-15 years to hear back, all while you're struggling to feed your family? If you would, then I have to question how much of a 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' type of person you really are.

The wall is an idiotic idea that is supported by nothing more than a bunch of overgrown man-childs. A wall isn't going to reduce illegal immigration. It's going to be a costly effort that will be paid for by American citizens. And then even when it's finished, there's going to be maintenance on the wall which will also be costly. This is ignoring already the environmental issues, the issues of land rights, etc... And on top of it all, it's not going to accomplish anything. It's nothing more than a symbol for xenophobes to rally around. "“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" I guess that doesn't apply anymore. Maybe we should give the statue of Liberty back to the French.

Apparently we have all the money you could ever hope for to start wars and build walls. But education? health care? Get out of here! We've got walls to build.

Here's a great education problem: design an impenetrable barrier that will span the US/Mexico border, and calculate the material, manpower, time and cost to get it built within 360 days.
