I used to own an Korean SG that was a fantastic guitar, except for a microphonic bridge pickup. I've owned an Indonesian Strat, too -- good guitar for the $75 I paid for it.I don't care much for epiphones, myself. I had one that I gave to my granddaughter. I have a Telecaster and a Fender acoustic that I had since 1978. If I could ever see my way to buying another guitar it would be an Esquire. For an acoustic it would definitely have to be a Martin. I've been wanting one of those for years.
If you shop carefully, a good Epi can be had. I like their Sheraton semi-hollows, and every so often they get a Les Paul or SG right -- like the one I owned.
For acoustics, there's a Taylor 12-string in my future, to join my Yamaha 6er and two electrics.
