According to the estimates from the above article roughly 7.8 Million metric tons of CO2 emissions will be created as a consequence of building the wall.
It's not a massive amount in the grand scheme of things, but it's still interesting to think about. Often times when we go through with massive projects like this, the cost-benefit analysis doesn't consider the indirect ecological impact. Often times without regulations, direct ecological impact isn't considered either.
