The problem is that there are two stupid narratives that are clashing and people focus on them rather than looking at what is actually going on. The "Muslim Ban" narrative is inaccurate, I agree. However so is Trump's narrative that the ban is "working out very nicely"; it's not. Over the weekend the Trump administration flip flopped repeatedly over whether green card holders were banned from entry into the US. During this time hundreds if not thousands of permanent residents were either being detained at airports or were not allowed to get on planes.
There was chaos in the airports because of the Trump administration's inability to clarify a pretty important point about legal US residents that were affected by the order.
