RE: Why do far right Christian-Conservatives want to put Jesus in schools

This thread speaks to exactly why I think religion is dangerous.
It is an inherent trait in many, if not most, Christians to want and "spread the word." It says in their own book to go and preach the supposed word of god to others in order to show them the way. Christians, being people of at least average intelligence (most of them anyway, though some studies would suggest that religious folks actually have a lower IQ on average), realize that instead of preaching to adults who can use logic, reason, experience and observation to criticize and analyze what they are taught, they should preach to children, who will more than likely take an adult's word for it that a man named Jesus was the son of god and got sent here by himself to sacrifice himself to himself for the sake of allowing himself to forgive everyone for their sins, even the ones committed against himself.
Many Christians are smart, dangerous people and I think religion itself is dangerous. It gives people a false sense of security and hope. It allows people to be self-righteous about something that has nothing to do with them. The pious people of Christianity are not so innocent after all. They know what their agenda is and have no problem pushing it on everyone else, completely oblivious to the fact that their beliefs are slowly but surely fading away. Let them fight... they'll die kicking and screaming and we can all enjoy the show in the mean time.

“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.
It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.
Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll
