Alex Jones is in the middle of a divorce and therefore custody battle for the kids. His wife, Kelly Jones, says the Alex Jones is "not a stable person" but Jones' lawyers will spend the next two weeks trying to convince a jury that his radio show is a particularly realistic public performance in front of reporters in an Austin courtroom.
Already in Jones' pretrial hearing, his lawyer argued that judging Jones based on his InfoWars persona "would be like judging Jack Nicholson in a custody dispute based on his performance as the Joker in 'Batman.'"

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
