Sure, giving money is their choice, but do you really think their ignorance is their fault, and therefore they are to blame for the action? I mean, I'm sure there are the willfully ignorant; the assholes; the nutjobs...
... but do you really think the "dumb" should be held accountable if they really, actually, are dumb? And I said nothing about my opinion on whether AJ believes it or not.
Agree with me or not, faulting dumb people because they are dumb is kinda closed-minded, dude.
I'm pretty grown up, too. Today was my 40th-and-a-half birthday!

Holy mother of effingham.
Nuance, dude. Nuance.
I think some people are victims of Alex Jones. Some people who follow him are just assholes.
Yea you're right Empress. We should blame Alex Jones because his victims are dumb.
My views are just close-minded while yours are nuanced and mature. You're 40 years old for Christ's sake!
Lmao gtfo here.
It's their choice to spend their money, not my problem. You're right, not their fault for being dumb. Not my fault for having blue eyes either. But the ignorant do have a choice to be uninformed. If Alex Jones is lying, which I highly doubt he is, dude seems legit crazy, good for him for making money ripping dumb people off, and even better if those people are not dumb, but rather ignorant. This world is not a nice place and you're only a victim if you choose to be. I wish the man good luck who tries to scam me out of money. Lord knows I've been there before.

Most of us have run into people (or many people) who've worked us over...it's just that most opf those people aren't conmen. The girl at the bar works you for a better tip. The ads know what color makes the public more likely to purchase an item x. Jones sold bullshit "news" to people who then used that information to make decisions in their lives..up to and including our president.
Or he didn't I guess, and he's earnestly insane - whichever is better for whatever conundrum he finds himself in at the moment.
You're comparing advertising tactics and a cute bartender getting you to give her a better tip to a cult leader taking all of your money and possessions?
Wow. That's a vast canyon to cross, my friend. I'll sit back and get my popcorn while I watch you walk that tightrope.

In all seriousness, it seems that people have different ticks, and some are a lot easier to manipulate than others. Remember, Trump ran for and won the highest office in the land (and by extension, the world) using an election platform built on faerie dust and an impossible 2000-mile wall, and stubbornly refusing to go away. And he got so far because he managed to manipulate some people with some very sensitive and very predictable ticks.
And if they really find themselves trusting you after they've manipulated you, it can be shockingly easy for them to get you to believe anything, even if they've had a history of being totally full of shit.
Of course, this could be coloured by my being on my second History of the Third Reich book this month, but I don't think he's totally wrong. He might not be totally right, but he does have a point.
Comparing voting for trump to giving away all of your possessions and money to a cult leader. Once again. Vast canyon. Popcorn. etc.
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.
It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.
Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll
