1. A group of people gathering to do church like activities doesn't make them a religion so yes there is a difference no matter how much you wanna push the "but your religious to narrative"

One person who has money and free time and devotes himself to providing a social atmosphere for atheists some who miss the atmosphere of a church community being raised in a religious culture but don't buy the religion anymore .Is not the same as gathering to talk about an ancient collection of fairytales and sing homes to imaginary friend in the sky.
3. The fact that there are a number of these does not refute the two points above.
