The Doomsday Clock is pretend.  They've also started including climate change.  But it's just some folks guessing and then representing the guessing on a clock, instead of with odds, for reasons that make no sense I can determine.

True but it gives a feel for how safe the world feels and the Trump made it worse.

And the presidents aren't just winging it.  They have an array of generals they are delegating to.  Picking courses of action from options presented.

Trump skipped security meetings and the ones he attends they:
A: have to just give him short notes because his attention span is so short and B: have to mention his name every few lines otherwise he drifts off mentally.
On other occasions ignores advise and just outright circumvents procedure.

 Do you believe Barack Obama, based on his one term in the senate, knew what he was doing in running the united states military?  Or Bill Clinton because he was governor of Arkansas?  Or Ronald Reagan, as governor of california?  Or George Bush as governor of Texas?  The only one in recent history that seems like they might know on their own what was going on, was George H. W. Bush, who was director of the CIA.

Those people took advise. Trump just wings it with astoundingly misplaced arrogance. He is, and lets be generous here, a completly fuckwitted mentally deficient arsehole.
