The insurance companies could continue to exist but they would have to compete with the federal plans as well as with each other.
It's not an issue of what you think is smart or stupid, and I appreciate that you have opinions here..so do I, but so what? The ACA set obligations for the government as well as insurers..and insurers created, sold, then set their policies based upon those stated obligations..and all of this, they will argue.... cost them money.
