Ha! I remember that decade! The '80s! I was in my 30s. My daughter went through that whole shoulder pads, big hair thing. You could tell that a song was going to be a hit if it was played in the background of a Miami Vice episode. Not a bad time. Even for baby boomers.
The '80s encompassed the latter half of my teens and my early twenties. It was a strange time for me. I was in it but never felt of it.
Among my cultural blind spots and raging, psychotic hatreds from those days:
1) I never saw a single episode of Miami Vice.
2) Somehow, I never got around to seeing Ghostbusters despite being a Bill Murray fan.
3) To this day, I seethe to hear Phil Collins on the radio.
4) The sound of big, reverb-y drums (a ubiquitous production trope from those days) practically makes me queasy.
