It helps because it is a demonstration of the rule of law.  The notion that 'unless it leads to impeachment' it isn't important is rather short-sighted.

Impeachment is not a legal process - it is a political process.  While the WLB has republicunt majorities in both houses the politics of the situation will argue against impeachment.  Still, arresting his cronies and getting them to flip is the way to go.  The WLB is a criminal and has been for a very long time.  He only recently became a traitor.
