You know, a bunch of R's said the same thing..in a case of the selective amnesia that's been going around dc. My opinion..when you're dealing with extortionists you have to adjust what you consider to be practical or responsible politics..or you'll get practically bitchslapped and -then- the wingnuts will enforce their irresponsible ideology with no effective opposition.
This was the r's shutdown..that they could have ended at any time without any help from the d's. The d's didn't have the power to extort a fuckin thing. It's only by capitulation that they will now own it. The 18 no votes (some of them r's...wishing that the deal could be made even more cruel) are the only people worth a shit. The rest are asleep on the job.
