But if we hypothetically knew for sure an unknown person was going to try and kill as many middle schoolers as possible at a specific school in Delaware, the solution would 100% include 'good guys with guns'.   

You mean like the good guy with a gun who stood outside the school with both thumbs up his arse while the  shooting was going on?  THAT good guy?  He really put a stop to the bad guy who was methodically killing people, didn't he?

This is why the problem needs to be addressed from as many angles as possible.  People who shouldn't get guns may still get them even with tough laws.  Guards at school may be ineffective.  There is no answer to the problem.  The best you can do is try to throw as many obstacles in the way of a potential shooting as possible.
