No questions led me to my atheism. I was a deist as a small child so that's the only type of theism I've been a part of. And the only reason I postulated a deity at all in the first place was to explain the beauty of nature and the variety of animals and plants before I was 10 years old. When I was 10 years old my dad showed me a TV documentary about evolution, and then proceeded to educate me further about evolution. Suddenly I didn't even need a deity to explain nature. And the only reason I wasn't happy with no explanation and thus felt the need to invoke god is because I've always been insatiably curious and needed explanations.
But I have never needed the curiosity to question any religion, because it was fucking obvious as fuck to me even as a small child that the stories of the Bible and similar books were just stories. I was shocked years later as a young adult to discover that adults genuinely believed in that stuff literally, when I always assumed it was just stories and similar to the Aesop's fables my dad used to read me as a child.
