The Church has made it plainly clear that as long as it's god (or, apparently a priest) doing the poking, it's not abhorrent per se.
I find it very difficult to rule out the possibility of a priest fantasizing about the boy he's fucking going to hell for being homosexual. I don't imagine that said priest suffers any sort of dissonance whatsoever. Until someone convinces me otherwise I will maintain that said priest is capable of exercising both his faith and his groin simultaneously.
In light of that, nothing these bastards do surprises me. It's hard to follow shit like the inquisition, but that doesn't seem to have stopped them from trying does it?
Two words why catholic priests felt they could get away with such crimes, holy orders.
Essentially in the Roman Catholic system when one has taken holy orders, they automatically go to heaven.
