In fact, it can be said an action is a belief put into real time.
I've never consciously chosen to believe or not believe. I've tried to believe, which is something entirely different. Either something makes sense or it doesn't. One of the most uncomfortable feelings I've had was realizing that I had wasted ten years of my life in a religious group, going through the rituals but never able to wholeheartedly believe even for an instant that it was actually true.
I don't do stuff like that to myself anymore. I'd rather be a faithless but authentic lone wolf than an insincere sheep.
