It is more likely that you are a sectarian Muslim (probably a Shiite) who wants to bash Sunni Muslims.
Taqiya is a very, very very low, disgusting act worthy of cults and ghetto communities when practiced in "normal conditions".

In other words; when a "Muslim" fears persecution for their belief, it's "fine" to hide their religion. Which is pretty much "an innate capacity and a natural defense mechanism".
But the problem is in defining what "persecution" means:
