I always liked Pope Francis, but if this is true then I agree with Archbishop Vigano that he needs to resign. I don't see why the Archbishop would lie about something like this.
Didn't the pope just put out a 2000 word letter about eradicating child sexual abuse within the RCC? And now we have this?
This kindler, gentler papacy nonsense we've been bombarded with since Bergoglio took over is clearly a sham. He's continuing the strategy of his predecessors: putting the interests of the RCC ahead of the victims of child sexual abuse. Covering for abusers, showing leniency to known pedophiles, and berating victims are not the actions of someone who sincerely wants to stop the abuse.
Like I said in a previous thread, it's time to name names and fully cooperate with the authorities. Long letters stuffed full of hypocrisy and fake concern don't mask his pattern of behaviour.
To pick up on what you said above, if Vigano's testimony is true, then Bergoglio needs to be held accountable. I don't think a simple resignation is enough.
