I don't care how harsh the next Pope is, so long as he is someone who is going to show 0 tolerance for abuse and cover ups, as that is the first priority right now.
Only a person with a big fat ignore list on reality can say that. You're obviously very clueless about the crimes Catholic Church has been committing. Like sanctifying Pope Paul 2 who protected pedophiles. Now, maybe Catholics can forgive him that, but outsiders will always look at you as fundamentally wrong.
Or not to mention other crimes which show how fundamentally corrupt Catholic church is
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
