I agree but I think this is somewhat incomplete. Yes the universe will continue to exist and evolve without the earth and its life but but billions of years of evolution programmed us to be social and self-preserving. We must use our intelligence to understand and take action to what will ultimately be for the continuity of our species. Religious scriptures blur what our intelligence can understand.
