We have a car lot and alot of people buy cars with their tax returns but I can understand Pelosi/shumer's reasons for not passing a budge the president can sign, even if I do not agree with it. if we must endure to better this country then so be it. yes it sucks having to wait weeks or months for money due us but it is nothing like trying to run a business under super strict governement regulation and crazy taxes. withholding a payment or two is nothing of the previous 8 years of hell and worry on how will we make out bills.
From what I understand two things will happen that will really benefit trump if he waits out the "dims" in the house. One the interest alone from withholding this federal money could pay for his way by april, and two is any furloughed federal employee (non essential employee) can be terminated without any cause or explanation which again is in line with a huge campaign promise to cut the size of government they say as many as 50,000 federal non essential employees could be fired. (if they don't show up to work without pay) This again is enough to build the wall several times over.
I think Nancy and shoemer are small picture thinkers and are holding funds to simply spite trump and trump is playing them to cut a large portion of fat out of the federal government which in of itself will free up funds that can be allocated to the wall anyway. which is what trump wanted from the beginning but could not get done any other way. so rather than keep trump from getting his wall The "Dims" are not only giving trump his wall but cutting trillions out of the federal budget as well!
You believe that the money that isn't being paid to federal employees is being held in an interest bearing account? It's not. The only people that are going to earn interest on the withheld money is some federal contractors who are going to be owed interest on missed payments. The government is losing money on this shutdown in many ways. And firing 50,000 nonessential workers is unlikely to happen.
The Democrats aren't going to budge because Trump is taking the majority of the blame for the shutdown. Heat is being turned up on senate Republicans. It is possible that this might actually end with Trump's veto being over ridden. That would be an absolute disaster for Trump, since it would completely undermine his legitimacy in the Republican Party. A credible fear that his veto might not stand would probably be enough to make a sane person relent. Trump can't win this. Even if Pelosi and Schumer give him the money for the wall, it will look more like a coup by alt-right pundits than a victory for Trump.
Everyone knows that Trump was taunted into shutting down the government by alt-right talk show personalities. We know that he intended to sign the spending bill that was unanimously passed by the senate. We know that he vetoed the bill after being ordered to do it by talk show hosts. Under those circumstances, it is not possible for Democrats to give in. If it were just a policy disagreement between congressional Dems and the president, either side could budge a little bit. But this is about Trump taking orders from Coulter, Beck, and Limbaugh. The puppet is either going to cut his strings or be hung on them.
