IIRC the 5 billion is for 200 miles of wall. The border is approximately 2000 miles long. It's going to be more like 50 and you know there will be overruns.
50+ billion buys a lot of surveillance, interdiction and lastly, tightening up border crossings which is where the majority of the problem is - and a wall addresses that not at all.
