Unless it can be pounded into his thick fucking skull that he's going to go to prison, he won't resign. However, I'm optimistic that the requisite pounding will take place. As things stand now, Trump stands a fair chance of losing to a Democrat in two years. If he's indicted, a Democrat is unlikely to pardon him. His best chance of avoiding prison will be to resign once articles of impeachment are drawn up, but before he's convicted in the Senate (which is looking more and more likely) and to be pardoned by Pence.
And - naturally - much depends on what Mr. Mueller has to say.

I tend to agree, but I do warn dems not to underestimate him, we did that once already.
I'd say the longer Russia and Mueller stay in the news, the worse of he is with swing states. And this shutdown will not be forgotten either. But even with that dems cant afford to pick a stiff nominee or one with baggage. I hate to say it, as much as I loved Hillary, she didn't translate well and she had lots of baggage.
Outside nailing 45 like Nixon, the only other way he might step down, would be if on or a couple of his children are indicted.
