Of all the use cases for an ar-15...hunting deer is pretty much the worst, lol.  You may as well broadcast the fact that you're the worlds shittiest hunter.  

You overpaid for a toy. Get a ruger you scrub. 

MSRP on a Ruger AR in 450 Bushmaster is $1099. MSRP on a Ruger Number 1 in 450 Bushmaster is $1899. Both can be bought for less, but the single shot Number 1 is usually going to cost more than the AR.

I put my Bushmaster manufactured .450 upper reciever on my Bushmaster lower then put together an Anderson lower with DPMS parts from Brownells to put under the .223 upper.

End result - 2 rifles. The .450 cost me slightly under $650 - and shoots sub MOA out to 200 yards. ( so far). The more expensive Ruger is unlikely to do better.

And AR-15s are also routinely used for hunting. I expect to bag at LEAST 5 whitetails with my new 450 Bushmaster this year.
