Criminals will do criminal shit, but the criminal shit that other people do is not an entirely persuasive argument for punitive action taken against people who aren't committing those crimes, and, here in america..as you know..(for better or for worse, lol) we have to wait until a crime has been committed by a person in order to refer to that crime as cause for action against them.
If we want to reduce the amount of firearms obtained on the black market, we need to reduce the supply of guns on that market, make the penalties stiffer, and broadly enforce those laws already on the books to that effect (really, all of the above).
Again, you're using generalized arguments that could be applied to a plethora of banned items and substances... but they're not, they never are. Why are guns so different!? Why should they be!?
How does one reduce black market gun supply? Will making penalties stiffer help... does it matter if we make something illegal extra illegal?
