Most mass murderers are not mentally ill so they would not . But do agree the mentally ill need more help .

If you think mass murder is the work of a sane mind, one has to wonder what' s going on in your noggin.......

Are you saying murders can't be sane ? Or that they can't motivated by sober idealogy rather then insanity ?

They can be, but those guys, sane or not, exhibit patterns of behavior that can signal their intentions, and particularly in the weeks beforehand the fall prey to leakage.  Discussing the event, floating the idea, talking about other mass shootings and how they would have done things differently, etc.  

Usually, this just isn't reported to law enforcement or counselors, and the shooters don;t have any routine contact and relationship with the sorts of sympathetic ears that might recognize it and..either steer them to a more healthy mindset, or report it to authorities themselves.

Wouldn;t catch them all, but well never catch them all.  Still - if we're looking at ways to reduce gun deaths.  Mental health holds the biggest chunk of the gun death pie.

Suicide maybe but mass killings nope
