The idea that if only the holocaust victims were armed, that the holocaust would have been lessened in some manner is both offensive and ridiculous. It's been long debunked by historians.
There's this magical idea that if only the jews had guns, they could've done what the Soviet army struggled to do, without the military training and tanks. There were uprisings -- and they were largely failures. Take for instance the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, which was a massive failure. Many of those who weren't disarmed and participated in the uprising died -- either in battle, or sent to death camps. In extraordinarily high numbers, while the German Casualties were quite low.
To think that a group of untrained individuals with pistols could have stopped what the Soviet Army could not is quite ludicrous.
Nice straw man. Since I never argued European Jews could have stopped the Holocaust if a few of them could have been armed with pistols. I just said the Nazis worked for years to disarm as many of them as possible before they started rounding them up for slaughter.
Yes Jewish uprisings in the ghettos and even the killing camps were largely unsuccessful but not completely so. Some were able to escape the ghettos during these events. Many of those who did joined armed partisan units. Many of those not only survived the war they helped others survive too. So while armed resistance by the Jews was not able to stop the Holocaust, it did help many survive it.
Oh and by the way, just in case your history is a little cloudy, the Soviet army did stop the Germans.
