This is simply incorrect. I’ve watched multiple people buy guns the same day they walked into the store. You can purchase a gun as soon as the background check passes; there is no federal law requiring you to wait and only certain states have mandated waiting periods.

If your NICS check bounces every time - blame computers.
You probably have a fairly common name - and someone with the same name is a criminal.
You can apply for a special ID number through NICS - which you use with future purchases - and the NICS won' t bounce on you anymore.
