Quote:Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is planning to push through a new law that would allow parliament to protect his immunity from prosecution, as he faces possible indictment in three corruption cases, according to leaks to the Israeli media.
The new far-reaching bill would allow the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, and government ministers to essentially ignore any High Court of Justice ruling, Haaretz revealed, including the potential revocation of Mr Netanyahu’s immunity.
Bel Trew, does Bibi already have immunity from prosecution or not? Will this law give it to him, take it away, or reaffirm that he already has it?
Also, I know that a lot of criticism of Israel gets automatically branded anti-semitic, but where does anyone mention it here?
Not anyone here. But I have run into conservatives who shout "anti Semitism" online.
GOP politicians use that line all the time when you dare suggest Israel can do things better or say anything against Bibi.
Bibi is pulling the same shit Trump is because he is corrupt like Trump is. This really smacks of the same "fine print" crap you see in contracts and TV adds. It would far more likely benefit Bibi than it would hold him to account.
Just like the bullshit term "Reverse Mortgage". Orwell would hate Bibi as much as Trump.
"I didn't do what you think I did, but I will fake transparency". That is what this reads like.
