I wonder does the detective have any tattoos? Not alone would it be a stoning offence under the rules he espouses, but I personally think that tattoos on police officers (visible ones anyway) are inappropriate and unprofessional.
But you know, these pricks pick and choose which rules should apply.
After all, I'm sure he wouldn't want to stone his disobedient children to death at the edge of town, or be killed for working on the sabbath.
