He asked for $A3 million to help with legal fees (his property portfolio alone is worth $A7 million) and his disclaimer also stated (paraphrased) “I accept that my donation my not be used for legal fees”.
After raising $700,000 GoFundMe shut down the page because it violated their terms of service because they want to be seen as exclusive of all people (in the same time period as this appeal was running, around another $1 million was raised for all other appeals for people who really need help.
