I simply ask, "Why is this one person so special that god keeps them from being hurt/sick/hit by cars while children all over the world die of unspeakable tragedies? What makes this man or woman so great? God sounds like an asshole to be letting all of these other tragedies happen while he went out of his way to make sure this specific person didn't get sick because they 'can't afford' to miss work."
And then when the person does get sick, as we all do at some point, it turns into "this natural virus made me sick, but god will make me all better. It's part of his plan."
It's never "God caused me to get sick. It's a good thing we have modern medicine to help me get better."
In their eyes, god is only the cause of good things, but if he does cause a horrible thing to happen, then it's simply part of his plan and the horrible act is forgotten.
This man killed this other man.
It's ok. It was part of his over all plan to kill several people. Just trust in this man's plan. In the end you'll see all the good that came from each of those murders.
It's just ridiculous
