They aren’t moral exemplars trying to do things “ the right way”. Theirs is an explicit rejection of what we might see as the right way in favor of an effective way- at least as they see it.
As a movement, they don’t have an ideological issue with victimizing some douche.
You’d think hitting an asshole in the face would make that crystal clear.
As much as I want to like Antifa, this shit doesn't sit well with me. Let's put aside for the moment the fact that I think a real anarchist/Marxist revolution must be a pacifist revolution in order to produce a genuine Marxist or anarchist result. Let's even put aside the fact that violence is (usually) immoral in and of itself.
My problem is that these guys ought to be beating down racist cops instead of dickweed journalists. Again, I don't advocate violence in any scenario. But I don't trust Antifa to take out the Gestapo were the Gestapo actually roaming the streets (and, in a way, they are). They aren't anti-fascists. They're anti-"the PR department of fascism." And when push comes to shove, that doesn't really count for shit.
Seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy -- myself.
