Israel will need an excuse to restart West Bank settlement.   That will probably derail this.

This is almost certainly nothing more than an utterly cynical Collusion between Netanyahu and Trump, or trump’s son in law, to help Trump on election eve.    Once election is over, whether the ploy succeeded or not, excuse will be found for the West Bank settlement to resume.

That Israel will permanently abandon its cherished dream of regional aggrandizement and defensive depth sufficient for ages, for the sake of good relationships with a mere distant minor gulf sheikdom, is so ridiculous as to be utterly laughable.

When Egypt was relatively powerful and could have regained the backing of the USSR, And Uniting yo defeat Israel was still a more effective and credible rallying cry in the Arab world, detaching Egypt form any possible Arab alliance against Israel would have been worth Israel putting on a more sustained show of abandoning its pursuit of the recovery of all territory deemed to have been part of ancient Israel. 

Now Israel is relatively much stronger, and every Arab state much weaker And Arab world much more divided, and Uniting a menifest pipe dream  and defeating Israel clearly no longer a credible goal,  there is not a single Arab state with whom good relations Would be worth any lengthY postponement of Israel’s dream of geographic defensive sufficiency.

This is why Israel has no real incentive to seriously halt its settlement plans For any length of time.

No. You only say that because Muslims are the weaker side today. But the darkness will go tomorrow just like the darkness of Europe went away. This is life.

Power is in their side, but how long do you bet that it shall last? they didn't even complete 100 years in the region, and with all the technology they have Canaanite Muslim children with rocks stir fear to the core in their hearts.
