Must admit this thread has me interested as to how toys such as Ian Mccollm has like the 'Calico 9' with its rather unique and interesting 100 round helical magazine will fare.
Those were a neat concept. Clinton's AWB killed that company.
I was working at the gun shop - and the owner and manager were gone - leaving me in charge for a few hours.
A guy came in wanting to sell a Calico and 3 magazines. I had not been given "authorization" to buy - but did so on my own volition.. (Legal - but could piss off the owner).
When the manager came back I told him if he didn't approve of the deal I made - I would pay the store what I paid the customer - plus double the usual transfer fee. ($25).
He said that it was ok...
The customer asked for - and I paid him - $150.
Each mag was worth more than that...
Well Ian Mccollm did mention that the company (?) seemed to still be in existance. I think he mentioned Canada? Been a while since I watched the vid.
The interesting ecperiment he's done with the reliablity is interesting.
He's put about 300+ rounds through the carbine version and only then started to get misss fires.
So it would seem that the gun's woes tend to be operator errors and not production/design flaws.
Cheers.
