Can't say I'm surprised. What a piece of work.

I’m legit unsure if he’s just a regular nonce or if this is just the logical conclusion of a belief system that treats damn near any sexuality outside of a God/Gothard-approved marriage (anything on the scale between child molestation and women wearing short skirts or even pants) as equally horrible.

Honestly, when it came out that he had molested four of his sisters as a teen, I was inclined to believe that the whole thing could have been because he went through puberty in a home with five girls and ZERO healthy outlets for his sexuality allowed, and frankly, when his next scandal turned out to be as mundane as making an account in Ashley Madison looking for a remarkably vanilla girl and apparently having an affair with a porn star (admittedly, it turns out that this affair was much more ‘Yikes’ than I knew at the time, upon further research), that strengthened my assumption that he only did what he did because he wasn’t allowed anything else and not out of a particular sexual interest in children. But evidently, this arrest seems to suggest it’s left him with bigger sexual hang ups.

Also, a while back, I found this video from their old show that legit floored me:



They have this absurdly restrictive “modest” dress code (one that many of the girls, presumably the ones Josh molested, have apparently made even more restrictive), and yet, they have zero rules for footwear. Hell, according to my research, in another episode of the show, at least one of the girls scoffs at suggestions that they hike in South America in shoes less revealing than flip-flops, saying “we can do anything in flip-flops.” As a foot fetishist, I find this attitude very hot, even if their extreme religious convictions are a huge buzzkill, but this oversight floors me: it’s like wearing a suit of armor that just happens to have gaping holes in places where a well-placed blow or knife can kill you.
