For me it was a waste of time.
After viewing this film, I still know nothing about the ecology and future of Lake Victoria besides some general ominous predictions (the most informative part of the film was where they showed another film being screened at a conference).
Maybe it was actually a movie about importing weapons. Besides some general references to Europe and empty planes (annoyingly repetitive), I know absolutely nothing more about weapons in Africa.
This movie gave no answers and fumbles along by trying to shock the audience scene after scene, either through the very real trauma and hardship some of these people face, or by patronizingly eliciting answers from people. I honestly do not see why this documentary got such great reviews and awards. Perhaps I missed something.
I'd give it a miss.
